If you’ve ever planned a spring break trip to 30A, you know it takes a little strategy.
Before you even get to the beach, you’re looking up parking, shuttle routes, and beach access points. There are rules, curfews for minors, "private vs public" beach areas to know, and during peak spring break weeks, the beaches fill up fast.
The sand and water are beautiful, but it’s busy and chaotic.
And for a lot of people, that’s part of the experience.
Now come a little further east to St Joe Beach, Cape San Blas, or Mexico Beach, and the pace shifts completely.
There’s no shuttle schedule to figure out.
No racing to claim your spot early in the morning (like 6am!)
No rows of chairs packed side by side.
Instead, you get a wide-open shoreline, space to spread out, and a relaxing beach day that's easy.
Here, the “rules” are simple:
Fill in your holes
Pick up your trash
Stay off the dunes
That’s really it. It’s less about managing the crowds of people and more about enjoying where you are.

Why people are choosing the Forgotten Coast
More people are discovering this stretch of Florida after spending time in busier beach towns. Not because those places aren’t beautiful, they absolutely are.
But because they’re looking for something quieter, affordable, and more relaxed. A place where you can unwind, and it feels like the beach used to.
